Trump Says He Will Meet with North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un Later this Year

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un later this year, just days after pulling back joint US-South Korean military training. Trump also gave an unusually specific assessment of Pyongyang’s nuclear capabilities, alleging that the regime currently had “57 very powerful nuclear weapons. While on a tour of the White House’s new helipad, reporters asked Trump about his recent suggestions for interactions with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

While he declined to specify whether the two were exchanging letters, he did claim he gets along with him quite well.”And you know what? The fact that I get along with him is a good thing, not a bad. He owns 57 extremely strong nuclear weapons. “Should never have allowed it to happen,” he stated, adding: “If I were president, I would not have allowed it. “But he has them.””I know Kim Jong-un very well, and he’ll be fine,” he added. ”

As long as we have a smart president, he will be alright. If we have a dumb president, he will probably not be so good. Trump provided no other information on the upcoming meeting with Kim, which will be their first since Trump’s first term in office.
