Thanks to record September-quarter iPhone sales, Apple Inc. reported higher-than-expected revenue for the three months ending September 26, 2026. However, when investors balanced the impressive earnings against pressure on profit margins, shares dropped almost 3% in Monday’s after-hours trade. From $102.5 billion (€91.4 billion) to $114.5 billion (€102.1 billion), revenue increased by 12%. From July to September, the Cupertino, California-based business made $30.71 billion (€27.4 billion), or $2.10 per share. From $27.47 billion (€24.5 billion), or $1.85 per share, during the same time last year, it is a 12% increase.
According to a FactSet survey, analysts anticipated earnings of $1.99 per share on revenue of $113.4 billion (€101.1 billion). Both numbers exceeded such projections. Tariff refunds, on the other hand, contributed $0.05 (€0.04) per share to earnings and increased the company’s gross margin by around one percentage point to 47.9%. Only the initial days of sales of the high-end iPhone 18 Pro models were included in the quarter. These numbers do not reflect the sales of Apple’s latest foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, which began retailing in the current quarter. Mac sales surged by nearly 24%, while iPhone revenue increased by 17.5% to $57.6 billion (€51.4 billion). Revenue from wearables, homes, and accessories decreased by 7.9%, while iPad revenue decreased by 10.4%. This is Apple’s first earnings report since Tim Cook was replaced as CEO on September 1st by John Ternus. Ternus reported a 21% increase in revenue during the quarter and a 28% increase for the entire fiscal year in Greater China. He said that the quarterly gain was driven by sales of Macs and iPhones.
