Trump Claims That as Perimeters of a Deal were Reached, he is Canceling Strikes on Iran

Following requests from Tehran and other unidentified Middle Eastern nations to delay strikes because the “perimeters of a deal” have been reached, US President Donald Trump has said that he is abandoning a fresh attack on Iran.

Later, unnamed Iranian military officials denied Trump’s assertion that Tehran had asked the US to halt the attack, calling it a “new lie” intended to “blackmail Persian Gulf rulers,” according to Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency.

Iranian soldiers, they added, were “at the highest level of readiness,” and “if a confrontation becomes inevitable, the battlefield will be decisive. The US State Department warned Americans in the Middle East to remain vigilant due to possible escalation in the area, which prompted Trump’s declaration.

It stated in a security update on Saturday that Americans who are currently in the Middle East should be cautious, vigilant, and ready for aircraft cancellations, sporadic airspace closures, and possible travel disruptions. Trump had warned to strike Iran “very hard” on Friday, saying he was “losing faith” in the possibility of a peace agreement.
