Moisis Sergiannis and The New Conversation Around Leadership, Connection and Human Potential

“An event can be more than a gathering. It can become a space where people connect, learn, and see things differently.”

For Moisis Sergiannis, CEO of Alternative Media, this idea has gradually become the foundation of a wider approach to events, communication and experiential learning.

That approach is now taking shape through one of the company’s most ambitious upcoming projects, the HeartMath European Symposium 3.0, taking place in Athens from October 30 to November 1, 2026.

Under the theme Heart in Leadership, the symposium brings the conversation around leadership into areas that increasingly affect organisations, communities and individuals: coherence, resilience, communication, wellbeing and the ability to operate effectively in environments carrying significant responsibility.

the Heart in Leadership

The programme brings together international speakers and practitioners including Deborah Rozman, Gregg Braden, Arianna Huffington, Howard Martin, Dr. Rich Safeer and Nipun Mehta, among others.

The subjects extend across healthcare, public service, business, communication and leadership, reflecting a broader idea behind the event: leadership today is connected with the way people think, communicate, respond to pressure and relate to the people around them.

For Sergiannis, this intersection between ideas and lived experience has become an important part of his work.

Through Alternative Media, the Athens-based company he leads, he has worked across event management, production, advertising, conferences, retreats and experiential learning. The projects span different fields, while sharing a common interest in creating environments where people can encounter ideas, experts and communities in a direct way.

This philosophy can also be seen in the range of events Sergiannis has helped develop over recent years.

As co-organizer of the Game of Money Festival, he has been involved in creating an event focused on financial literacy, entrepreneurship and innovation. The festival brings together people with different levels of experience who want to engage with the changing world of money, business and economic understanding.

Technology has formed another part of this journey. In 2025, Alternative Media handled event management for the Web3 Summit Athens, organised by HiveTech. The two day event brought together more than 530 participants from four countries through talks, panels, workshops and networking.

For Sergiannis, the value of such an event extends beyond the subject itself. Technology creates its own communities, questions and possibilities. Bringing the right people into the same physical space can turn an abstract conversation into something immediate and shared.

Communication became another significant area of development through APPLAUSE, the Athens Public Speaking Summit, which Sergiannis co-organised with Nina Kaloutsa in 2025.

The event focused on public speaking and communication through workshops, talks and discussions for professionals from different fields. It reflected another recurring theme in Sergiannis’ work: the growing importance of how people express ideas, influence environments and connect with audiences.

These projects have gradually created a portfolio that crosses traditional industry boundaries.

Financial literacy, Web3, public speaking, leadership, wellbeing and human potential may initially appear to belong to separate worlds. Sergiannis sees value in the points where these worlds meet.

Modern professional and personal life increasingly requires people to move across several of these areas at once. A business leader needs communication skills. An entrepreneur needs financial understanding. A professional working under pressure needs resilience. Technology continues to reshape the environments in which all of these people operate.

the Heart in Leadership

Events can create a physical place where these conversations become connected.

This perspective also explains the significance of the HeartMath European Symposium 3.0 within the evolution of Alternative Media.

The symposium brings leadership into a wider human context. Through speakers, practitioners and conversations from different professional environments, it creates space to explore how leadership is experienced in practice and how internal states can influence communication, decision making and responsibility.

For Sergiannis, the role of an event producer in this environment is increasingly connected with curation.

The people in the room matter. The subjects matter. The way different ideas are placed next to each other matters. Every choice shapes the experience participants eventually take home with them.

That principle has become a connecting thread across the work of Alternative Media.

Sergiannis continues to develop projects at the intersection of business, communication, technology, personal development and human potential, bringing together speakers, communities and subjects that would often remain in separate spaces.

The ambition behind this work is increasingly clear: to create experiences with enough substance for people to leave with a new idea, a useful connection or a different way of looking at something they already thought they understood.

The HeartMath European Symposium 3.0 represents the next expression of that direction.

Athens will host the conversation. The subject will be leadership. The wider question reaches further: how can the experiences we create help people think, connect and lead with greater awareness?
