Chinese President Xi Jinping will conclude a three-day summit with US President Donald Trump today on American territory, his first in 11 years. Europeans are attentively monitoring any moves that may have a direct impact on their economic interests.
On Saturday, more than a dozen EU ministers will gather in Munich to discuss how to boost migration priority. According to Vincenzo Genovese, those in attendance include Magnus Brunner, the European Commissioner for Migration and Internal Affairs.
Ministers from Greece, Germany, Austria, Denmark, and the Netherlands will address return hubs, also known as third-party deportation centers, on the margins of the summit. The five ministers met in Copenhagen in early September and agreed on a uniform blueprint for deportation centers outside of Europe.
The world’s most prominent leaders addressed difficult problems such as artificial intelligence, the Iran conflict, and trade. In the latter case, a shaky trade truce was supposed to expire in November, but the two countries decided Wednesday to extend it for another two months.
