Trump Promises The US will Seize ‘all’ of Venezuela’s Oil as Deal Specifics Come to Light

The White House released the details of its Venezuela oil agreement, identifying the private firm that will play a central role and affirming that the US will hold a majority stake in more than 65 billion barrels. President Trump declared that the United States intends to acquire “all” of it.

The White House fact sheet released Monday night named North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) as the central operator in the arrangement, disclosed the ownership structure for the first time, and outlined what Washington receives in return.

Venezuela’s reserves are much larger than America’s, with the concessions covering 65 billion barrels compared to around 46 billion in US territory. On Monday, speaking from the Oval Office, US President Donald Trump described the reserves as “unbelievable value that was sitting dormant,” stating that the US will “be taking all of that. We’re going to take that oil out.

The US president likewise insisted that major American companies were standing by to join the takeover of Venezuela’s oil fields. “Everybody is bidding,” Trump said. “We have Exxon going in, we have Chevron going in, we have our big oil companies going in.
