Ukraine’s state-owned rail operator Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railroads) reported that on Sunday, a Russian drone struck the locomotive of a passenger train two kilometres from the Polish border. According to reports, the attack happened in the Volyn region of Ukraine. The incident is thought to have resulted in no casualties.The enemy has been attacking the railroads for the second day in a row. Apparently, an early warning helped prevent a tragedy. According to the firm, the group responsible for monitoring threats to the rail service identified the threat and promptly notified the train crew, giving them time to take precautions to keep passengers and employees safe. The Ukrainian Air Force claims that Russia launched approximately 450 drones, including Banderol missile drones and jet-propelled drones, at Ukraine during the course of the nite.
The nocturnal strikes resulted in at least three fatalities and 36 injuries. Additionally, areas of western Ukraine that border Poland were attacked by Russia. Traffic at Polish-Ukrainian border crossings had to be temporarily curtailed due to the scope of the attacks. Major Dariusz Sienicki, a spokesman for the Border Guard, told the PAP that checks were halted overnight because of security concerns.
