Prosecutors said on Wednesday that the man suspected of shooting and killing an Italian lady at a rave party in Switzerland has “psychological problems” and has not spoken while in detention. The man admitted to the shooting and handed himself in to the police, claiming he had “been suffering from health problems for some time,” according to AFP. He is a 43-year-old Swiss national who resides in the Jura canton.
Maria Spinelli, a 22-year-old Italian lady, was killed when gunfire broke out early on Sunday as an annual party was drawing to an end at a racecourse in Aarau, the seat of the northern Swiss canton of Aargau. It is thought that Maria Spinelli was “hit by a bullet” that struck “vital organs in the upper part of her body” after moving to Switzerland in search of employment.
Bruno Gallo, the family’s attorney, stated that “the circumstances of the crime have not yet been fully clarified” in a statement.The attorney stated, “The Swiss investigators say that the man who has been arrested is thought to have suffered from psychiatric problems and, despite this, appears to have been in legal possession of firearms.”Gallo stated, “This is a profile that needs to be thoroughly explained, showing how this was possible and looking at any possible responsibility, at whatever level, of those whose duty it was to prevent a dangerous situation.
