Mykhailo Fedorov, the former defence minister of Ukraine, told the BBC that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should be questioned regarding corruption in his administration. Fedorov, a well-liked minister who advanced drone warfare and modernized the armed forces, was dismissed last month after allegedly having a falling out with the chief of Ukraine’s armed forces.
He told the BBC that Zelensky should be questioned about his knowledge of possible misconduct in his close circle because of a money laundering probe that was made public last week. However, he said that he had not personally witnessed any corrupt behaviour by the president. Federov stated, “I have never once received a task or assignment from him that would go against the law or my sense of integrity in the entire time I have worked with him.
Days after releasing a video in which he demanded a wartime vote, the former minister also reiterated his desire for elections to be held in Ukraine.He stated, “Democracy shouldn’t be Putin’s hostage,” but he refrained from outlining his own political goals. Fedorov’s dismissal sparked furious protests, but after his replacement was announced on Wednesday, the rallies ended. Many people have rejected his request for a vote.
