Trump Abruptly Interrupts NBC Interview Following Fight Over ‘Rigged Vote’ Claims

US President Donald Trump abruptly exited an interview with NBC after being continuously questioned about many statements by the show’s host Kristen Welker. During the interview, which aired on Sunday’s Meet the Press, the president stated that both the current California primary elections and the 2020 presidential election were “rigged”.

When asked for evidence about California’s vote, Welker replied, “All I have to do is look, and I listen.” After the presenter responded, “That’s not evidence,” Trump accused the media of being “crooked,” and ended the interview, “Sorry, let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough.”

The president has a contentious relationship with traditional media sources, frequently accusing them of bias against him.

The interview, which took place in a barn while Trump was attending a farmers’ festival in Wisconsin, was repeatedly delayed due to technical difficulties and rain on the metal roof. According to NBC, he walked out 50 minutes into the meeting on Friday.

Welker spent much of the interview pressing Trump about the fight with Iran, with Trump repeating that the US has to act to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and that it would not be “an endless war.
